What's Making You Happy Today?

I have grown men do these things to me where they say they are "working from home" but are nowhere to be found after sending an e-mail saying "I'm looking into it."

But I've been immune to it. I had a nice lunch date with someone new and the rest of the harem is happy.

Oh and the hair specialist appointment went OK. I wasn't too thrilled about the extremely limited hair transplant proposal (400 grafts) and the need to shave down to perform the transplant. He seemed pretty reluctant to give me finasteride so I got a prescription for Rogaine foam that I already had at the beginning of the year courtesy of eBay. He did ask me to get a blood test so he can check a bunch of things so I should be grateful for that.

I forget what happened after 1:30 this morning. I got home at 3:30. I woke up at 7 with blood on my sheets. Apparently I hurt my leg and scraped some skin off my left hand.

I had a dinner up town and then took Uber after a 3 hour dinner up to a late night izakaya. For some reason, I decided to order a bottle of sake. The little cups were too small so we started drinking from the 750ml bottle itself. This was after a bottle of wine, two old fashioneds, and a Johnnie black for dinner. And I was at happy hour with another date before, 1 pint, 3 Jamesons. From my Uber pick up e-mails at 3, I decided to walk 3 very lengthy subway stops all the way back down to the dinner place with a bottle of bourbon as a gift.

Changed and got into work at 10am - been in meetings all day till now.

The harem is happy.

I found my bank and credit card! Remnants of Thursday night. Going with my old school mate to watch the Premiership games at the local pub. London Pride!

New Study Finds Humans Shouldn’t Spend More Than 5 Consecutive Hours Together

ALEXANDRIA, VA—A study published Thursday in The American Journal Of Medicine determined that it is highly detrimental to the physical and mental health of human beings for them to spend any more than five consecutive hours in each other’s company. “Our research shows that humans are not evolutionarily equipped to handle being together for extended periods of time, under any circumstances,” said the study’s lead author, Mark Hughson, adding that the findings applied equally to both casual acquaintances and immediate family members, including mothers and their newborn children. “We found that, optimally, people should limit themselves to between two and 20 minutes in another person’s company, with five hours representing the absolute maximum amount of time that anyone should allow themselves to be in the presence of others. In addition, they should permit at least three days to elapse in between human interactions, preferably a week. We simply weren’t constructed to put up with more than that.” Hughson went on to say that while humans had the capacity to withstand each other’s company in five-hour increments, it

Too bad it is the Onion and not a reputable news e-rag like HuffPost.

Still, I will show it to my wife to reinforce why I shall never retire; for both our sakes.

After 3 years I finally got to unpack my fragrances. I have a LOT of nice shit. Surprisingly, I only lost one or two decants. Sadly, one has no label on it, so I'll just have to enjoy it blindly.

Always interesting to rediscover what we have packed away, especially if it is good shit.

Oh, I've got 6 jumbo boxes full of clothes and a whole life stacked away. Might never get a chance to see what's going on in there.

Spent the past half hour reading Harold Falcon badger all the StyleForum spammers. Definitely good for a laugh.

One of my home bars is finished summer break and is opening up. Another place that's dark, mahogany, with little sun and half a century of history to indulge in once a week. Twice this week.

I don't usually go out very late on Friday nights - I prefer to go out Mondays-Thursdays and stay a monk on weekends.

Yesterday was an exception. I had two instances where I was walking on the sidewalk next to some heavy traffic and women in the backseat of vehicles would wave or say "Hey well dressed man!" That was after getting compliments about my attire from my mate's relative and I don't think it was even my best dressed day.

During the wedding last night, a family friend asked me to show her son how to fashion his hair like mine.

Astonishing people still think I have enough hair to fashion - Rogaine, Toppik and everything.

Oh my cousin's wife asks me for a light. I hand her my zippo. Oops - she wanted torch mode from my mobile. Oooooh that. Obviously I had other things 'lighting' up in my mind.

I got no hair and never looked back. I've saved thousands on hair salons.

I won a free round of golf and a suite at a golf resort. Since I don't own a car, it was always prohibitive for me to go there. A mate of mine is actually going somewhere near this resort so it's a perfect fait accompli.

Oh I'm not going. I'm giving it away. I'm going to work on this wonderful 31c day. Patio time!

After getting my laptop from the office on Saturday afternoon, I literally didn't check my work mobile since. Have 1 text message, 1 voicemail, 2 missed calls, 249 e-mails. It's still on the charger right now.

I spent one hour of my long weekend writing 3000 words on StyleForum.

No it was most of the restaurants I went to since May. New ones. I feel quite proud of myself.

I still haven't touched work. Maybe I should.

I went to a birthday party for someone last night. Imagine myself trapped with a bunch of ladies in their fourth decade or higher - actually four of them and all of them are single, dressed to go clubbing but eating at a Thai restaurant that I recommended across the street. Maximum entrée price $15. It's a hip place but we were a little out of sorts.

Because everyone was late (women are always late), we had to wait at the bar at a high top table for four. When I picked the first lady up, she asked whether it was too hot to walk outside - which meant timing Uber so it arrives just when she gets out into the lobby. When the fourth lady came, I gave up my seat for her and stood for a solid hour. When one of them was cold, I offered my jacket. Another one of them was cold and wanted me to unbutton my dress shirt. When we needed to go to the club, I offered my brolly and walked them over steering them away from puddles and sewer grates.

I realized that my experiences with other women have me, as one of past women said, "well trained".

Why am I happy about this? Oh because I took the umbrella home from the club and saw men and women hiding from the rain storm or running frantically in their cocktail dresses whilst I enjoyed my clove cigarettes.

Fuck, where'd you get cloves? Internet?

Djarum is on display here behind the till. It's not even under tobacco rules.

I drove 2 hours without an accident. Another 2 hours and I will have driven more than I have during the past four years.

I fixed my browser issue with the hassle of removing registry crap and going back a few versions...
I saw Jimmy Rustler's rickroll reference and drove to work blasting Rick Astley's tune. I never noticed all these joggers and bicyclists before but it was so fun to literally rickroll past them.

Why are cloves sought after?

Because frankly I'm a bit of a woman when it comes to the clove smell, the super sweet tip - it's like smoking menthols.

One of my female acquaintances is using my horde of frequent traveler points to go somewhere in the northeast. I'm very surprised I booked a hotel for her and she was able to change it from the airport hotel to a much more posh one all the while not having my identification, credit card, me or anything other than my original confirmation e-mail. Oh the things I do for other people.

Finished up a 5 year cycle sitting on a professional board. After today's AGM I was surprised to be presented with a gift. Was a shoe care kit: cedar shoe box, brushes, the whole deal. Most practical corporate gift I've ever received.

Yay I'm going to a work golf tournament today. $195 green fee. Courtesy of a vendor. To hell with the fact they are auditing us.
