I'm trying to save money so it takes me a week. I don't use flash so if it's too dark I can't take photographs now that it's winter.

The trout and pasta was one meal. My lunch mate wanted a photograph of her trout.

Fresh Maine sea urchin for $3/pop dressed. Will finish with olive oil, lemon, and sea salt, fucking heaven:

I've never had sea urchin. What's it like?

It's an acquired taste, although it's probably more the colour and texture that's the problem for most people.

Very popular in Japanese cuisine, particularly nigiri-zushi, where the gonads of the sea urchin are served upon small blocks of rice, or in sashimi. It's called "uni" in Japanese (the "u" has a short "oo" sound).

I've read that the sea urchin's gonads actually contain a small amount of anandamide, a euphoria-causing neuro-chemical, so perhaps that's why it's so popular amongst Japanese sushi enthusiasts!

Bowels of the ocean distilled into custard.

So nice being able to eat high quality non-radioactive seafood again.

Should've taken pics of the blowfish too, tasted like sand dabs but without all the finicky bones.

Yeah, good dabs are tasty especially if using 18mm scientific glass bong and a seasoned nail.

Back to my bad lowlight photographs. Left = Uni-bomb - I think that's crispy pig skin, uni on rice. Right = Salmon aburi on regular rice.

Had a cashew cheese fake-tofu today that was off the charts, tasted almost like yuba, and came with a good fake-hollandaise sauce over spinach and kamut bread.

don't be silly. I had a medium rare bison burger with pickled jalapeños on a gluten-free bun for dinner.
So were you trying to fuck a vegan on a lunch date? I'm just not sure why someone would subject themselves to cashew curd tofu willingly.

Dunno what passes as vegan food in Florida but there's legit stuff in NYC.

I'm confussed. I thought LelandJ was in Florida or something. Now he's in NYC or California. Has anyone got a tracking device on him I can access on the net and a map of USA. Thanks.

He is bicoastal. Or maybe bisexual. I always get the two terms mixed up
