That beef poutine stuff looks disgusting , it's a Canadian thing though isn't it?

I ordered it from the late night menu at a beer hall. It's a Quebecois thing. The beef cheek was nice but the gravy and copious amount of salt they put on it wasn't.

had this girl ive been seeing over on sunday...grilled some lobster tails, asparagus, corn. had a potato salad with sour cream, shallots, green onion, chives, garlic, old bay, dijon. lobster and corn had generous amounts of this compound butters with shallots, chives, garlic, old bay, honey and lemon.

I never take food pics but had Chinese duck amongst other dishes last night. That was after an art exhibit opening where I had a fwiffo-esque amount of free shiraz and yummy soft blue cheese. Savingon Blanc with Chinese , not my choice as it always tastes like water to me.

I was having a late dim sum (after 1300) and saw some white people break open a bottle of wine. I never associate dim sum with wine. Come to think of it I never eat breakfast type items with alcohol either.

Sticky rice, beef rice noodles, har gow

What a difference a month makes. The Ant & the Grasshopper

If you go to the previous page, fxh was laughing I was saving money. I was in September too. Some of those meals were bought by account managers who do business with my firm. However we just rolled out more rules on accepting gifts so I'm a bit screwed.

Beef vindaloo, plain basmati, pappadum, keema naan, copper ale.

How spicy sir?

Hot.

Hot sir but....

Hot

Ok.

How did you find the spice sir?

Was nice.

Not hot?

No, not really.

But it was spicy hot sir!

White spicy hot or brown spicy hot?

Was brown spicy hot

I guess make it hotter next time

I had Lambs Fry and Bacon for lunch today. Large pub at seaside. 28C. Vegetables were overdone but mashed potatoes and meat were yummy. Simple, old skool, good. Started with a Guinness then a decent bottle of Shiraz. Walked around corner to gelati shop and had a big single cone lemon gelati. Wonderful.

They always want to dumb it down for the white guy. They did do it Indian hot but that is the starting point for me.
A few years back we had some Taiwanese friends out for an exhibition. Originally the family was going to stay at our place but is the cultural way with these things the friends kept growing until eventually we had 30 visitors. So it all changed we hired a bus and driver etc etc and aranged group accom etc.

One trip was to a large provincial town so a month or so in preparation us the logistics team visit to arrange meals etc. Go to biggest/best Chinese restaurant in town to organise date and dinner for 40.

Discussing menu with proprietor we settle on costs and courses.
Then I let slip they are Taiwanese friends.
She snatched menu out of my hands and in slightly more polite words said::

"Don't worry about any of that oz/Chinese shit we talked about I'll cook you a proper Chinese meal for that same price" .

Was pretty amusing.

We actually have a Thai place here that is legit. It's the only place I've ever eaten in the states that was capable of food spicy enough to knock me on my ass.

Thai is usually good for burny hot. There is this place in Chicago that does killer hot. First time I went and asked for it the cooks were peering out of the kitchen to see if I would die
