Nah, I've had enough for a while.

add some garlic and rosemary

If only. We had a little bit of cooking oil and a small bag of chocolate chili powder that I'd had the foresight to pick up in Addis. When that ran out, we dry-rubbed one with instant coffee; it was horrible. After that we just ate them plain. Never again unless I have to.

you will not spoil my appetite for lamb kebabs tonight!!!

I killed and ate so much goat on a deployment that I now have an aversion to lamb. Just the smell puts me off.

Osso bucco from goat or lamb is even more exotic than pork, I guess.
I'm not that adventurous, so I stick with the traditional veal.

The Italian joint down the street here makes it with lamb shanks. I just figured that was how it was done.

I'll be the first to admit I'm no gourmet; I once ate a sandwich I found in a drawer.

Why's your meal served on a stained beat up cutting board? I like the cornichon, better if minced and served on burger sauce.

Just left Indian Country. Miles from home. Needed a pit stop. Town of 500 farming souls. Local bar. Beer, fried pickles, dry ribs. Degenerates playing VLT's. Got a bit too bright and the barmaid lowered the blinds. 80's Rock on the radio. Buffalo, deer and elk heads on the walls. Sketchy sub-humans huddled in dark corners. My kind of joint

Okay I don't know how to fix that last one where I decided to do another insert of the guacamole - oh well.

UrbanSpoon renamed itself Zomato. What jackoff came up with that awful name?

I think that Urbanspoon was bought out by another company and, following the takeover, the new owner decided to rename it Zomato.

I agree, though - it's a stupid name. Urbanspoon had excellent name recognition and (in my opinion) a good format - the new format is a step backwards and the name's unfamiliar. Great way to ruin a successful business.

I like to think my stomach's pretty tough, too; I've eaten kebabs from a street cart in Ouagadougou. Hell, I once ate a sandwich I found in a drawer.

Sounds like some interesting stories to tell.

Did you eat fufu with grass cutter (agouti) or some other bushmeat while you were in West Africa?

I guess it all depends how you eat it. I love goat, especially sate or curry goat, but I can't eat dog anymore after a bad experience in the wilds of Indonesia.

I have not been to West Africa. I was in East Africa: Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, Tanzania.

I have never eaten bushmeat. I was in the infirmary, though, (I'd helped carry in a heatstroke victim -- people regularly collapse walking across the base at Camp Lemonnier, especially overweight Navy officers) when they brought in three Marines who had had the shit kicked out of them by a baboon just outside Arta Plage. They'd seen it on the side of the road and decided they were going to try to put a USMC T-shirt on it. Respect the primates.
