Car Talk

Backrow seats in midsize trucks are too tight; i am not that tall, and i felt cramped in the new Tacoma. Also the prices for midsize trucks are so ridiculous that I might just go full size.

I wouldn't mind a F150, but everyone here has one. Don't trust Ram and Chevy styling doesn't do it for me. I wish Tundra kept V8 as an option, I read horror stories about the twin turbo V6.

Already have 2 SUV, lol.
I bought our Taco for hauling shit not the fam. access cab. skinnyass jumpseats.

solved. $40ish. restored. big cab. pickup. full time 4wd. set up for camping. restored. no snorkel. low miles. diesel = good mileage. easy import.

No I didn't, I checked what's available online because the price seemed sus. And unless you desperately want a 130 in this exact configuration, there is plenty of choice. And even if it has to be a 130, they are available. Land Rover is a bitch to maintain but for the 10-20k this one is too expensive, you can get quitet a bit of mechanical work done yourself at place that you trust.

You’re seeing 130’s in similar condition for 10-20k less? Where pls? I’m very interested.

No not in necessarily in similar condition (though we don't know much about the condition of this one, do we?), but you can easily get them for (far) less than 25k€. So depending on what needs to be done, that might be a smarter purchase.

yeah, nothing was done on it.

  • Full engine service, featuring a timing belt replacement, oil seals, and a new water pump.
  • Replacement foot well sections on both left and right sides.
  • Suspension refresh, with new poly bushings, steering rods, rear shock absorbers and a Bilstein steering damper.
  • Brake system overhaul, including new front and rear calipers, brake pads, and seals.
  • Replacement wheels, featuring Sawtooth-style 7×16 alloy wheels with new Aplus 235/85 R16 tires.
  • Exterior refinements, such as stainless steel door hinge kits, retrimmed roof lining, and a new wiper motor.
  • Re-trimmed dark grey synthetic suede headliner.
  • New 300TDI steering wheel and gear shifter including low range knob
  • Blaupunkt Madrid 200BT Radio
  • Final detailing, including steam washing, stripping chassis surface, and treating with epoxy primer and a fresh coat of protective satin chassis paint.

Dude are you on comission? Who said nothing was done? They certainly didn't skimp on the undercoating, belinmad belinmad you might want to bring a hammer to the test drive.

ah, that’s what I thought. Sure you can find old defenders starting at around 12-15k, but those will require quite a bit of work.

Based on my experience “refreshing” my 2001 RR, I’d say that 130 is not particularly overpriced tbh based on the work described.

If you like the price, you should dd the previous owner and find out how he put the 6kkm per year on it, especially since it seems the engine is already having combustion issues.

e. I've been told 10-15k for age-approriate and 20-25k for a good one (but not a 130 in particular). Not looking for one though.

I paid 5k for my RR, and put about another 5-7k to have it in pretty strong mechanical condition (but not aesthetic, which I didn't care much for).

Trans Toyota could be the new trend for the one with buyer’s remorse

Dacora. Ultra luxury vehicles.

What? You mean my Indian Jaguar isn't luxury anymore?

I was hanging out at the dealership for my 12yr service today. While I’m in no rush, I’m enjoying checking out options for my next ride. The ev Charger is a truly ridiculous car burning to consider. On a more serious note, I sat in a Toyota CH-R (what’s is that, ‘chair’ ‘chore’?) and was actually impressed. The BRZBRZ or whatever it’s called seemed like crap, but this new one is definitely appealing. Not a lot of rear seat space though. I may go back and take it for a spin when I have time.
