Famous People Who Died

Andy Gilchrist, the Andy in Ask Andy About Clothes, an early and once lively forum for men's clothes, dating back to 2004, although I don't recall anybody ever asking Andy about anything, still it was an interesting place, still going, of which I am one of the two remaining members and maybe dying soon myself. Ya never know.

RIP Andy. A nice guy who did his best.

A good post from Crusty.

I am saddened to hear of Andy's passing, and of the circumstances surrounding it. This forum has been a part of my life for some fifteen years now, thanks to his efforts to create and maintain it. Very sad news indeed

Certainly one of the world's genuinely nice guys. As I remarked on at AAAC, if there is anything to the widespread belief in the immortality of the soul, I am confident Andy's in a good place.

Not sure who that is, but Elon Musk could never be accused of over-thinking anything and is coming out as a Unabomber fanboy:

Exactly. The Harvard educated Unabomber, didn't like the direction in which the world was heading and provided the stone age solution of murder

Oh my! As a club swinger, I have to salute him as a master of the heavy clubs, even if they were nowhere close to the 75 pounds claimed for them. I strongly suspect, after discussing the weight of the sheikh's meels with an extremely knowledgeable man, that the claim that they weighed 75 pounds may have arisen from an honest mistake: The Iranians give the weight of their clubs for the pair, Indians and Westerners customarily give it for the single club. Thus, when asked about the weight of his clubs he gave an honest, if confusing answer. Thus, his individual clubs weighed 37.5 pounds apiece. This is quite plausible, and still means that he was one very strong SOB! I just recently completed over 100 swings with a pair of 5kg Indian mugdars and I am planning to graduate to a 6 or 7kg pair, and I know they will be quite challenging. According to some sources, the sheik and I were born on the very same day.

I do it for ter1413

It was nice to see the Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett collaboration. The first time I came across him was as a kid watching My Best Friend's Wedding with Julia Roberts. Back then he was the senior statesmen of crooners.
