Many experts advise against sensational reporting of mass and serial killers in the media, as it feeds the narcissistic urge of would be psycho killers. As an example, John Wayne Gacy cited Dean Corll as someone he wanted not only emulate, but to surpass in sadistic evilness. These psychiatrists and psychologists advise not to use flashing police car lights and sirens in news reports and keep it at the local news level and eliminate the name of the killer as much as possible. Pretty much impossible, but I get their position.

Even my kids know of Ted Bundy through the Netflix film and documentary.
 
I had a nodding acquaintance with Chuck Yeager. He was good friends with Bob Petersen, the owner of the company I worked for for many years, and also my more immediate superior Tom Siatos. I would not infrequently find the old general in Tom's office palavering with him.

Just finished ‘Single and Single’ last week and another of his works - ‘Our Kind of Traitor’ a few weeks before that. More about dodgy Russian businessmen than the Cold War in later books.

Yes. A childhood fleeing from places and being suddenly removed from schools. Might explain why so many of his characters are flawed, troubled individuals rather than happy, contented types.

Even before Gilligan's Island, which I never watched, I thought Tina Louise was one of sexiest women around. About a decade ago, I chanced to be in close proximity to her. She did not look good then, even allowing for her age...or so I thought, anyway.
