Tenant reveals landlord’s list of VERY strict rules banning guests, drinking alcohol and cooking after 9.30pm - and outraged Facebook users ask if 'he's renting a prison cell'

On a related note, I read an article recently about a lady who got a young lady to come in and look after her cat, while she went away on holidays. Obviously, the house (and pet) owner didn't trust the petsitter, so she put a camera in the loungeroom and had it send a video feed to her phone. She was looking at the video and saw the petsitter getting passionate with a man on the couch, before the two of them disappeared into a bedroom.

Outraged, the owner returned home, sent the petsitter packing, and then posted about the situation on social media, leading to it being reported on various news sites. Apparently, the pet sitter had a glowing record of having successfully looked after hundreds of pets but now she's been blacklisted from the petsitting site that she used and has had to go into virtual hiding.

WTF? If you see someone having a wild party and trashing your place, I can understand being upset - but a petsitter having their boyfriend over for a bit of consensual nookie? What's wrong with that? It's not as though she was looking after a human baby. If the house/pet owner wanted a nun to look after her cat, she should have specified that in the advertisement.

Just think of those traumatized dogs and cats. Their memories are tarnished forever. They might not even breed themselves anymore.

Was it this story(dogs not cats)?

If so, I would have been pissed also. She had the BF over. She had her father over. She was sitting down on the sofa naked. She was in both rooms naked. 1-5 minute dog walks. F that!

Men in business attire may be bad for women and the climate

"But a stroll through the air-conditioned passages beneath downtown Toronto's banking towers show that for many, the traditional men's business uniform has not disappeared.

Neck wrappings may have been essential in the drafty European buildings where they were invented. Its modern fashion-victim equivalent merely keeps bodily heat in. Yet even at the end of May, the windows at Harry Rosen, the menswear shop for the business elite still have models sealed up in stifling but stylish jacket and tie."

Excuse me - at the end of May, Toronto's normal high is 22c. Perfectly acceptable for a suit and tie. For Japan who puts their AC at 28c. Honestly - why bother have AC then. I refuse to accept my dress is hurting the climate or women's hormonal temperature sensitivities. If comfort were the case we ought to all run around in loin cloth.

Apparently y'all got some garbage coming back as well

https://earther.gizmodo.com/malaysia-is-shipping-3-300-tons-of-garbage-back-to-the-1835063297

Malaysian Minister for Energy, Science, Technology, Environment, and Climate Change Yeo Bee Yin announced Tuesday in a press conference that her country will be returning 3,300 tons of contaminated trash back to the countries it came from: the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Japan, China, Canada, and others

How do they which belongs to which country? Also the companies that will handle these returns - do they charge a premium by weight because they are handling things that have been degrading and fermenting for years?

Why 2 U.K. family doctors are choosing to call Halifax home

"This is what the province and the Nova Scotia Health Authority have been banking on. For the past two years, they've invested heavily in recruiting doctors from the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia largely accepts their credentials, and there aren't language barriers."

Language barriers? This isn't because they are both brown? They're from Britain.

You will find a lot of Brits from Indian extraction in both London and particularly Birmingham have emigrated to Canada and USA. They've seen the writing on the walls in the cities and got the hell out of dodge.

Brexit?

I think you've been reading the Sun too much.

Not at all, it comes from Nazir Afzal who was the Chief Prosecutor in North West England from 2011-2015 who on BBC Radio 4, 19th October 2018 had this to say:

''You may not know this, but back in 2008, the Home Office sent a circular to all police forces in the country saying 'as far as these young girls who are being exploited in towns and cities, we believe they have made an informed choice about their sexual behaviour and therefore it is not for you police officers to get involved in!''

Nazi Azil is an OBE and has, as you can easily check on Wiki and with an internet search, find that he is an exemplary character and prosecuter having made his name and reputation in cases involving violence against women and sexual exploitation of children. He's the real deal: a genuine good guy. As you know, the Home Office was headed by Jacque Smith at the time who had a number of expenses controversies including billing for a telecom bill that including two porno films amongst other antics. It was Gordon Brown's premiership and Labour.

Also reported in The International Business Times on 17 May 2017: ''The term 'child prostitute' was used extensively to describe them and it should be noted both that the Home Office, in a circular to police in 2008, used that term and spoke of girls making an 'informed choice' to engage in this behaviour.''

Not long after The Guardian were running editiorials and opinion pieces on the fact that we need to face: some young girls from working class communities are no better than slags.

We are of course, referring to girls below the age of legal consent being 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 years old. In may cases the pre-pubescent, incapable of making an informed opinion and thrown to vile pedo gangs by the British establishment.

There was a lot of rumours about that Home Office instruction. I wasn't sure whether it was an urban myth or a conspiracy theory, but no it was 100% legitimate. The debased act of an anarcho-tyranny-state.

The debased act of an anarcho-tyranny-state.

If that's the case - and it's quite possible that it is, although I haven't checked it - it certainly is a debased act.

However, I don't think it is the act of an "anarcho-tyranny-state" (whatever that may be, although it certainly sounds like an oxymoron), nor of a lax liberal state that is allowing all kinds of riff-raff from all corners of the earth into the country (insert appropriate conservative description here).

Rather, it seems to more resemble the way the UK used to be. If you were upper class, you could get away with all kinds of shenanigans as long as you did it in private. If you were working class, you could also get away with all kinds of shenanigans, as long as you didn't damage the property of the middle- or upper classes. Let's face it - back in Victorian times when people were allegedly oh so prim and proper and Britain ruled the waves, young girls did go and work in brothels and children were sold into virtual slavery.

To be frank, the above information seems to be very reminiscent of upper class attitudes towards "the others" from those times.

^ I really don't understand the appeal of watching kids open toys on YouTube.

Then again, I don't understand the appeal of any of the popular YouTubers. I guess that shows I'm old!
