As long as she isn’t trying tapas legislation, though she really should have paellla’d attention in history class.

In before Pimpy starts some false flag anti-pho conspiracy theory!

He is right though.
Like the old adage, a broken clock is right twice a day.
He was Thatcher-Lite. Or Tory with a conscience?
His premiership wallowed in sleaze and it's hard to pinpoint any achievement that anyone can remember.
I don't know anything about him. He wasn't the Gordon Brown after Tony Blair?
He was quite charmless and ineffective. Setting the stage for the utterly charisma challenged William Hague and the Blair years which seemed to reinvigorate the nation on the back of Britpop, but ended in the horror of Iraq and Blair being considered to this day, the most wicked man in England. Quite the accomplishment, as before Blair, it was Aleister Crowley who held that heinous title.

A bit like this current lot then?:lol:lol

The sleaze oozing from this current lot dwarfs that of Major's 3x over

Major's sleaze, with one or two exceptions, were infidelity ones and we wouldn't pay that much mind now. Both him and his government. He did set himself for a fall.

The big one brewing with the current mob is all the bent PPE contracts, etc. Which I agree is 3x over ++++ worse than anything in Major's premiership. Then you've got turning the NHS into a National Covid Service at the expense of cancer treatments, diagnosis and the rest. Which long term is going to prove another scandal, as that was certainly not done here in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Boris got a Brexit of a sorts done, which you wouldn't have got with May. That's one achievement, much faster and more successful roll out of vaccines in the UK compared to the EU. Mute point somewhat as the vaccines were not quite as good as promised. That's taken the edge off that. He's opening up England which is commendable and may yet shame Gollum in Wales and Wee Krankie up in Scotland to do the same.

"It follows reports that Mr Macron refused the PCR test over fears the Russians would get hold of his DNA."

And then they will create an anti Macron vaccine? Clone another Macron? This could be a problem for him at the next state dinner.

To suggest Brexit is 'done/delivered' or 'done as a sort' is just fantasy.

The *initial* vaccine rollout was indeed a fantastic achievement but that run out was squandered with successive stupid decisions. He is not opening up England because he is open minded and made a brave sound decision to do so; he is opening England because of his many indiscretions and he dare not suggest another lockdown!

I maintain this current lot have been indubitably the worst government of the last generation IMHO. Their failures are too numerous to list and the govt is riddled with featherweights.

A Brexit of sorts is what I stated, which is right, it's an ongoing process.

Correct: I care nought for the reasons why Boris is opening up. We know the facts: he has no legitimacy or credibility if he dares reinstate lockdowns - governance is still by consent in England - he sees the writing on the wall and has acted appropriately.

They're definitely the worse government until the next lot.

Breaking news. New event - Russia/Ukraine conflict. All athletes for both countries qualify for a fight to the death in the Olympic bubble ring.

I can’t believe the lack of sabre rattling from the US. In the old days, if someone threatened their allies they would at least make a pretence of standing up for them. It seems like Biden is just going to let Ukraine get clobbered like Pimpy with his delivery driver and follow up with a stern letter to the manager.

Explain pls.
well if you were a lib you'd want a weak republican party so that the dems could actually get something passed! outright admitting they want opposition shows you point blank they have no interest in doing anything other than prolonging all of these fights so nothing gets done except some grand compromise bullshit somewhere down the road.

Yeh, if you are committed to the whole liberal democracy then you’d want an honourable conservative opposition and not the current bunch of far right fuckers. But if you are committed to actually making people’s lives better …

There's a naval blockade of Odessa that's getting very little media attention. The Russians know the time is short, their media is full-on whipping everyone up into a frenzy and they admit that the time of invasion has to be soon before the Republicans regain any semblance of power at the mid-terms. If Putin is going to strike, which appears to be the case, it will indeed be soon.

I do it by law, but you make the mistake of thinking Ukraine is Biden's ally. They've kicked his son into touch for which there will be a price to be paid.

Lukashenko says Belarus will fight alongside the Russians. More trainers from NATO?

"Ambassador Vadym Prystaiko said Ukraine was willing to be 'flexible' over its goal to join the alliance, which would be a major concession to Moscow."

If they're not joining then what is the obligation from NATO to protect Ukraine?

First, Sadiq Khab put the outgoing London met commissioner 'on notice'. I suppose now the Met has retorted by showing 'no faith' in him. What do those two things mean? Fuck all.

Don't worry, the Met will send a 'questionnaire' round.

It's a squalid organisation, some of the antics that have gone on recently - that culture of depravity - you're going to need one hell of a leader to reform and clear out the dross.

The Met's always suffered from being the easiest police force to get into. I read the other day that the police have stopped intelligence testing of recruits.

"Vladimir Putin has said that 'of course' Russia does not want war in Europe"...

But if it's a 'minor incursion' of no more then 30,000 men....
Beware old men going places...
