I got to the point where he said China will put troops in Ukraine.

If they are going to have boots on the ground it will be in Taiwan.

I can maybe see them going into Pyongyang to save the regime if Kim is toppled but going 1/3 way around the globe? Can they even do that without Russia doing the logistics?

Oh and no one in Crimea Krym thinks they are Ukrainian. It was always known as an act of folly or madness by Khrushchev. They always believed they are Russian.

He said peacekeepers as a way to ensure that the Russians effects abide by the peace. This was if Ukraine went to China and asked them to broker the peace and rebuild, which would effectively mean dumping the US and Europe.

The cousin of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, Nate Vance, fought for Ukraine as part of the ‘Da Vinci Wolves.’ Here’s his story, as told by Le Figaro.

▪️Nate Vance served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps before settling in Texas and working in the oil industry. In March 2022, he traveled to Lviv, wanting to help because he “was witnessing history being made.”

There, he met a British volunteer recruiting soldiers for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Vance agreed and was deployed to Donbas in June.

“He was older than us. We went to the shooting range, and he took an AK without a scope, set a target 800 meters away. Everyone laughed at him. But when he hit the target five times in a row, the laughter stopped,” recalled his comrade, Dmytro.

▪️Nate Vance fought in the ‘Honor’ company. “He was an incredible fighter with a calm demeanor. We should have died 15 times—15 times we were lucky to survive,” said Serhii Filimonov.

In January 2025, Vance left military service but remains committed to helping Ukraine. He says J.D. Vance never tried to learn about his experiences on the front lines and expressed disappointment in his stance on the war.

“J.D. Vance is a good person, intelligent. When he criticized aid to Ukraine, I thought it was just about appealing to his electorate, part of the political game. But what they did to Zelensky was an ambush with absolute dishonesty. Being relatives doesn’t mean I’ll accept that you’re enabling the killing of my comrades,” said Nate Vance.

And China would want to broker the peace and have skin in this game because...?

The prevailing thought amongst Chinese people is Russia is now China's bitch. Putin's actions drove them towards beggaring off China and away from the West. Which is good for China because they were never invited to the G8.

If China wanted Ukraine's minerals and resources, they would do what they do with Kazakhstan.
 
Zelensky was in Saudi Arabia and then left before the talks or he hung out at a Saudi hotel whilst they went on? If the latter, is that a sign he is nuclear to the Trump administration?

Grigory Karasin, a former diplomat who negotiated the 2014 Minsk accords between Russia and Ukraine and a participant in Monday’s talks in Riyadh, told the Interfax news agency the negotiations were going on in a “creative way” and that the US and Russian delegations “understand each other’s views”.

He is part of a negotiation team that includes Sergei Beseda, an adviser to the head of the Russia’s FSB security agency.

The American delegation is being led by Andrew Peek, a senior director at the White House national security council, and Michael Anton, a senior state department official.
