Why does it feel like for some couples very small and insignificant things blow up to be a protracted, uncomfortable and confrontational debate?

The questions were quite simple yesterday - did you arrive? (yes/no) Are you in the correct queue (yes/no/don't know)? Did you want to come up ahead to take this place located by the XYZ land marker (yes/no)?

Instead it devolved into this telephone discussion of do we really have time to debate and talk about whether it is more appropriate to try to jump the queue ahead of the marker, before, oh wait there's a commitment in another 2 hours to if you knew the queue was so long why did you leave it this late...
Fwiffs, are you part of a couple????

What were you in line for?

This was the monkeypox vaccine.

And no, I'm not part of a couple. I'm a witness.

It isn't the first time something like this happened in front of me from these two. In the beginning I thought it was because I was the issue, but it seems they have pissy fits on their own.

I can understand if it's a couple together for a year and the honeymoon is over but it has to be past ten years by now. It must be tiring. It was tiring to witness.

Were you exposed to the virus? Which vaccine? You must be doing things very differently up there I’d all I can say.

No I wasn't exposed. I did tell my mate it's a bigger needle based on discussions from this forum but I left before they went indoors.

It's a two or three week series of clinics for high risk individuals, sex workers, people who live with high risk individuals or plan to do high risk things. Pretty much anyone can qualify based on that. It's pride march(es, plural) this weekend too.

He was the one who said anyone sexually active should do it. It wasn't only for homosexuals. This led me to wonder what people believe I do in my spare time. But I was just there to keep him company and bare witness to domestic dispute.

Brit tourists warned about £645 fine if they're caught urinating in the sea

I wonder how they police it. Do they have a bloke under the water 24/7 in scuber gear with a camera waiting until someone does wee wees in the water.

Is there a point to go to a horse racing event if you have no interest in horses nor do you gamble?

This isn't like Ascot where you go hoping to shag some women. $400 for unlimited alcohol and drink for 4 or so hours seems steep.

Absolutely, yes, get there. Best totty, mingling with high society in the County Stand.

As for the gambling part, suss out the degenerate gamblers before hand in your entourage. Those who have top tips and connections...you can count any nags and riders they're betting on out straight away. Get down to the paddock and pick the horse that looks the fittest. It will give a good chance of getting a couple of winners during the meet.

That sounds like I want to make some of the money back. It would have been better to bring my uncle but he's hiding from the virus. He at least spent weekends at the tracks and was a partial owner of a horse once.

I'm probably going with a girl so I don't know if entourage is random group of people we meet there.

Anyway, I have a week to think about it.

Correct, once is more than enough. All those vet bills soon mount up and then you have to bet on your own horse, 'cos you got shares in it.
I owned several half shares in thoroughbred horses. You have to be smart to break even and lucky to make a profit. We won a group 2 mile with a billionaire's cast off bought at the Arc sales. We also did very well with a late maturing horse bought as a two year at the BBAG sales in Germany. I have been into the German bloodlines since Acatenango impressed in 1986.

That sounds all good to me, a good hobby and interest.

Women and their incessant need for men to make more money. You get to 100K. Then they want 150K. You get to 200K, then they said you should be making 300K. You get to 300K and then they say 500K would be nice.

Just saying that people always want more.

Even this past weekend I told my mother I'd rather quit and cook in a food truck than take 2/3 salary and sit around like some European worker's council reject trying to hang on and do nothing at work for a year. Actually I think I said I'd rather jump off a cliff or blow my brains out.

But it's not even just women. I got one of my mates a new job at another insurance company and his household income is probably past 300K now and he says he's struggling to get to middle class median income.

I talk to people who want to buy a house and upgrade from their condo. Those that bought the house, now buy a rental property so they can make money off it and then when that's paid off they'll buy a cottage and Airbnb it out. It's like a never ending pursuit of more.

Some poor bastard who finally has 1M in total assets is probably getting the screws turned on him because who can live on 1M for the rest of their lives in this day and age anyway...

Hence the 23 year old girl...where a 99K job is a dream job and every little thing still impresses them.

Pete Davidson cancels his comedy show here. Then I figured out he is from Saturday Night Live but more importantly he is the ex boyfriend of Kim Kardashian.

I vaguely remember Kim had a boyfriend after Kanye but didn't know who it was or that they have broken up.

He's 28 and she is 41 with multiple kids from previous marriages. What is the attraction? I like used goods? Buy 1 get 4 free? There is a defined time limit to the relationship because by the time she starts to age then I move on and am still relatively young by male standards?

Outside of a few urban, chic women with eating disorders, most Texas women are overweight by the time they get into their 30s.

There are much better BBQ joints in the Austin area than that.

That is a sober and quite depressing thought.

I'll make sure I don't follow bbq recommendations from a food show on Netflix hosted by a Jewish guy from Queens.

Glühwein. But then again I don't have a sweet tooth so the thought of it makes me shudder much less tasting it.

It shouldn’t be sweet. It often is though, because they use crappy wine. Just make it yourself or buy from a respectable vineyard.

2 things dealing with restaurants that I have noticed over the last few months:

-Face timing when sitting and eating at a restaurant. Ok...Face timing anytime. But seated at a restaurant?
I saw someone who had their phone propped up Face timing someone while eating!

-A couple seated at a restaurant next to each other rather than across from each other. WTF is up with that? Is it cultural decision for some? I would feel weird if out with a lady friend and she sat next to me.....cause I would never sit next to her.

It is odd. I wonder if they do it so they can touch each other more? Or one has hearing challenges?

It is also equally odd when two couples eat together and the partners DON’T sit beside each other.

I actually dated a woman who had a hearing issue in one ear. We always sat across from each other. The only time it ever came up was when we would be walking and she would jump around to my other side.
