Things You Just Don't Get

2 things dealing with restaurants that I have noticed over the last few months:

-Face timing when sitting and eating at a restaurant. Ok...Face timing anytime. But seated at a restaurant?
I saw someone who had their phone propped up Face timing someone while eating!

-A couple seated at a restaurant next to each other rather than across from each other. WTF is up with that? Is it cultural decision for some? I would feel weird if out with a lady friend and she sat next to me.....cause I would never sit next to her.

#1. I would probably answer if someone FaceTimed me in a restaurant, if I were eating alone and it were some sort of restaurant without waiter service. But I don't think I would start a FT in a restaurant nor answer one if it were somewhere nice.

#2. I don't know if that's a big deal? In my head I'm picturing a table with a bench on one side and a chair on another, and maybe neither person cares for the chair. Or it's a diner type restaurant where both sides have benches in which case I don't see any issue because the restaurant has benches instead of chairs. Or maybe it's a 4 seater table with 4 chairs and both people are on perpendicular edges which I don't see as an issue either. It's not what everyone else does, but maybe they just don't care.

#1 - One of my pet peeves is talking on the phone while eating. I don't call people while I am eating and if someone calls me when eating, I tell them to call me back. I am not listening to you chew in my ear.

#2 - The example that I noticed several time was at a restaurant with booths and people sitting next to each other vs across.

Define oddball colors? Something other than silver or gold?

IMO men’s wedding bands should be a simple shape, so using interesting metals is a way to make them a bit unique. Mine is Damascus steel and gold.

I work with a lot of first responders and military people who wear those silicon wedding bands for supposedly safety reasons. What I hate is when they try to get clever with them and do bright colors and blue lives matter shit.

The man a few desks down from me at this co-working space started eating lunch. He breathes heavily so you can hear it from his mouth and nose - James Gandolfini Tony Soprano style. He snorts after every few chews. He chews without closing his mouth. Then all of a sudden he starts talking in front of his laptop because he started a video call. The eating process continues.

If I was the person he is doing a video call with I would have shut off the video and audio and told him to just type what he wants to talk about into the chat box.

Tbf I have always hated sitting across from my (female) dining companion. Even in my single days and depending on the calibre of restaurant, I often made overtures to sit along or by lady.

In fact, it is one of my bug bears why I seldom eat at restaurants with just my lady and I. I prefer a larger group or another couple/ family etc so I can sit by her.

Who invented smashburgers?

I was at a brewery yesterday for the World Cup final. Great spot. After the match, I figured that I would just eat there. I saw many people eating during the match and the food looked ok.

I ordered a double smash burger/cheese/onions/etc with fries. I asked for it medium rare but the guy said that it only comes one way. Ok.
(They didn't have regular burgers...only the smash burger or chicken sandwich + other stuff.)

It was ok.

But WTF is with this? I have had smash burgers before, but the concept?

Let's take a beef patty, season and with all of the internal juices ready to mix with said seasoning, let's smash the burger and let all those juices escape?

Can someone explain it to me like I am a 2yr old?

the idea is that smashing it down on the hot grill locks in the juices by the crust that forms. Use of fattier beef for more flavour flav because the fat can't go anywhere but back into the beef. Smashing be cooking it in its own juices not losing them on the grill.

Strangely, Ive been following the rise of smash burgers over time. Lots of Korean and Japanese burger joints do smash burgers.

Are they ever good?

I’ve had a couple from the chain Smashburger and they were aweful.

I’m still working on getting a Smashmouth joke in here somewhere.

I have NEVER had a smash burger that was better than a standard burger cooked to my liking. EVER!

Gimme some sea salt and crushed pepper and my regular burger will be better than any smash burger that those fools can cook!

horses for courses. YMMV. Same coin. Different sides.

Where I grew up, Salisbury House had the smash burger style. Big Boy Drive-In had the fat burger style. Blondies had the big fucking burger.

I assume they have a defibrillator in the shop, and give you a script for statins with each order with a voucher for a stent surgery down the track?

Nonsense.

You can really only cook a smash burger one way.

I have NEVER tasted a smash burger anywhere as good as a regular burger.

i'm with ter1413 ter1413 on this one. maybe if i lived in an asian county where they were doing this properly, or had any asian people around me that could actually cook, but all i end up with down here is a flapjack style beef disc that's well done and overly browned.

I would like to know what is going on with this kid. Is he a child actor or in the illuminati? Was Demi ordered to do some type of ritual? Something under handed is going on here. AND that women singing `over the rainbow' is also sinister. Isn't that song got something to do with de fragmented mind control used in illuminati abuse? These people look doped out like mind control slaves.

If you find any visual evidence of demonic sex orgies and hot satanic drug-fuelled sex, please post it here.

Don't have any visual evidence about all the drug feuled demon sex the MK ultra get up to, but l have heard all about it.

Here is the way I understand it.....

1- The lady singing `over the rainbow' = the lady doing the mind control (Demi's handler).
2 - Demi and the kid = mind control puppets
3 - Over the rainbow song = mind control tool of the illuminati

Kay Griggs talks about all the MK ultra and sex that goes on.

Here is Al Roker having an MK glitch apparently

All of these videos are shadow banned. They don't want anyone knowing about this type of stuff; these days it is classified as `disinfo' or `harmful content' or `conspiracy theories'. You know when they say those things, you are probably closer to the truth than one thinks.
