I just walked by a shopping mall with a Lancome display showing Lily Collins (of Emily in Paris fame) and some oriental woman promoting Lunar New Year.

What does she have to do with lunar new year? Did she grow up in Asia? Is she born there?
 
Got a bit of tension at one of my places for lunar new year.

Chinese is Rabbit. Vietnamese is Cat.

Media has defaulted to Chinese in ignorance.

My fam is on Team Cat, of course. When I asked my MiL why the Chinese say rabbit, she replied that they are ignorant Barbarians who couldn’t taste the difference! 🤣
 
Why do people hang out in a furniture store?

It was the first time I walked into the Ikea store in the city. I see people lounging around on their mobile in the display room setups including a little girl pretending the children's bedroom was hers. There were three levels to the store including two for the cafe. In the middle of the day I see people reading, and sitting around a furniture store fast food place.
 
Why is brylcreem double the price? It’s not like it goes through any innovation.
 
Halal cheese on a pizza. Did some poor cow die when they were milked?
 
People eating when shopping whatever they are going to eventually purchase. Not a grape or or a bite of an apple, but a whole big family size value pack.
 
My parents are on a ship to Barcelona. Why my father spent $200 in multiple transactions for Internet in the middle of the Atlantic ocean is beyond my comprehension. He's also not happy with the service.
 
People doing their jogging/running through the financial district at rush hour. There have to be better sidewalks and streets to do this than one paralysed by gridlock and with a horde of people making their way to the transit hub.

People walking their dog at the same time also baffles me. Small dogs are at a real risk for being trampled on.

This is a bug bear of mine too. Not to mention the increase pollution from the cars/ people/ machines etc at that peak time.
 
I don't get how people take THC to sleep. I had some pretty crazy dreams until it started wearing off. Sleep cycles shrunk in duration too.

are your pre-rolls sativa- or indica-dominant? strain makes a difference. edibles or CBD are more effective versus smoking
 
That is the absolute only reason I will have an occasional otc edible. Half a gummy puts me to sleep pretty easily and I actually sleep through the night. Sucks if I do wake up in the night and have to stagger out of bed to use the loo, but I still go right back to sleep.

Maybe I should consider and procure some edibles. Really sucks having to wake up to use the loo.

Sativa...according to the website. I usually get samples and hand me downs from someone who manages a store so it's not like I go out of my way to choose one or another.

We have a weird loophole in Texas where recreational THC is still illegal but hemp by-products (including THC) are legal. So as long as they make a bit of rope out of it, the rest can go into making edibles to get people high. I’m not a connoisseur to say how they compare to the stuff you get at legit thc shops, but half a gummy gives me a good night’s sleep occasionally.

People so preoccupied with their mobile phones that they stand at the intersection corner during the red light, through the green light, until it's almost red again and then wake up from their coma and begin crossing...eyes still on their mobile phone.
 
There's a Viking cruise ship docked here. I can see their tour buses going around the city to places like the art gallery. Who sees my city with cruise excursions? Right now they're heading straight into the construction of the new subway station.

Proliferation of video calls over in person meetings.

Yesterday I walked home to attend a video conference with a recruiter. They had it in one of those board rooms with the television and camera in the front facing all the long table. I could literally see based on the office buildings in the window behind them which building they were in - they were a block away from me. I walked by that block just to make the meeting. Why didn't you just invite me up to your office so I could attend in person?
 
Meal choices for a diabetic. Cranberry juice. Corn flakes. Mashed potato. Fruit cups. Muffins.
