I'm in a very dark restaurant looking out on to the beginning of the hipster fashion strip here mid afternoon on a 32c summer day staring at all the lovely women in their dresses, skirts and whatever curves and shapes are walking by. Oh I'm on my second glass of wine.

I will be doing something similar here in NYC tomorrow(96F > 35.5C)....but sitting outside...and drinking brew!

Vino bianco for me. Pinot grigio. The drink of one of my lady friends. Can’t burn off beer like I used to.

Proletariat beer/lager is the drink of the toiling classes, unless you're running/training for a marathon or have a manual job, you won't burn it off and the glucose will go straight to your muscles and back to the liver where it will make you fat.

My brother's kids are getting their first under 5 Moderna shots. In another 4 weeks they will get the second and the older one can attend Disney on Ice at the beginning of September.

Although why we're having an ice skating show in the middle of a 30C+ summer is a bit hard to understand.

Girl from Wednesday is working tonight so I ended up at the eataly wine tasting myself. Begged some other women to come but c'est la vie.

I actually met the chef who was doing all those virtual courses for melanzane di parmigiana, pasta alla Norma, etc. That I bought for my mum during the lockdowns. He was going bring your mother because he'd love to meet her.

Bought two bottles. Not impressed with the two beer stations. I understand a lot more Italian than I originally thought.

The temperatures here are back to 14C in the early morning and not getting higher than low 20's on a blue sky day. Ideal temperatures.

The wind continues to blow though, as it has all this summer. The wind was from the north and east a lot of the time this week. If this keeps up, it will be a warning of a cold winter.

It is 30c today with 37c humidity. Much better. Tomorrow it is 20c high.

On Thursday I was walking a friend and her one year old baby and I said it was nippy at barely 21c and I had a suit on. This winter is going to be brutal for me.

Of course I have so much colour that my mother says I look like a migrant field hand.

Seems I'm clean with my due diligence, but during the investigation, other individuals are not...

Which explains a lot, somewhat hinted at, but never fully revealed.

I think I'm losing fat on my face... It's less round. It's hard to compare to my peak coronavirus weight because I have precious few photographs back then where I didn't have a mask on.

I'm doing around 23 or 24 days at the gym per month alternating between dumb bells and cardio versus the 29 or 30 days earlier. Sundays I hit golf balls at the driving range as my rest day.

I feel more fit, stronger and I'm not winded as much even though I still smoke herbal cigarettes and the odd cannabis. I haven't really cut back on alcohol other than giving myself a good 3 to 4 days to sleep properly and recover from the gym. I'm definitely better off than the younger version of me from 5 years ago.

I sleep more too. If I sleep till 5 to 6 hours when my body normally wakes me up I try to stash another hour or more of sleep. That final bit for me is the difference between harbouring a lingering wrist, hamstring or whatever muscle injury to waking up and feeling almost nothing by the middle of the day.

Having zero expectations I was quite surprised with the theatre version of Singing in the Rain. A lot of the gents seemed to have a ballet background. 50/50 masks in my section and even though it is 2 1/2 hours I never thought it dragged on at all.

The whole silent acting to talkie was reminiscent of the latest Downton Abbey movie.

I have to think very few younger actors and actresses can sing, dance and act these days.

i had multiple fish dying and I can't seem to figure out the reason. The water treatment for fish ick now caused my shrimp to die. It is sort of trial and error but these things are not cheap to replace.
