What's Making You Happy Today?

I finished a free online course on The Arts and Science of Relationships: Understanding Human Needs

Some people need emotional intimacy before physical intimacy. Some people can deal with just physical intimacy (aka friends with benefits). And some relationships are only emotionally intimate (aka friend zone).

Also people's needs evolve over time and open relationships work for some and aren't morally incorrect.

you might find this book interesting:

Amazon product ASIN B08BZWXK9J
its possibly the best book i've ever read on understand female sexuality. highly recommended for all men out there even if its not your particular field of study.

I just did the Amazon - flip open the book to a random page and read function and I came across, "My boyfriend was like, 'You're not ready, you're still dry.' But I was so ready. Why wasn't I wet?"

...yeah, why are you not moist?

It looks like I avoided taking my father to the hospital for a third time in the past 6 months.

At one point I thought I had to get two ambulances - one for each parent. I always brushed off warnings that colds and flus can affect vulnerable and seniors as nonsense for people who are of weak constitution but one cold/flu literally almost put them in emergency.

Normal gym day today. Just the usual walrus, the skippy/flexy dance girl, and Ms. pink ear muff headphones.

Much better than yesterday when I had some bloke come in slowly walk on the treadmill, take my TV remote, change it to Punjabi music videos and spend most of the time trying to change it to the songs he wants versus exercising. He then had a phone call he took with the music still on and started a three way call on speaker. It was so loud he had to leave the treadmill to go out to continue his call. He then came in and changed to the elliptical on my other side. Then another call came in and I realised he spent more time pacing, talking on the phone and drinking water than actually working out.

I wandered into one of those free lunch time concerts at the local opera company. It was a Christmas theme today and even though I was another floor away with an obscure angle I recognised the Polish girl whom I voted for last year where she won a place to study in the school here.

Strangely she left her Montreal opera company after winning and from Instagram and TikTok looks like she sang her way through Europe before returning home for Christmas.

It was on the brink yesterday but I finished my chicken and turkey ballotines. A lesson not to just add more portions for fussy recipes if more people come and then add high active cooking side dishes.

I burnt roux not once but twice last night but I pulled it off. Serving temperatures could be better if I had another oven.

It's 4th January. So far the fatties and resolution crowd haven't descended on the gym yet. I used to have to get up at 445 but I'm managing comfortably even at 515.

I ran into the milf from a few floors below in the lobby. She was giving some instructions to some man in the lift reserved for moving. And then jumped into mine. Very rare as the two kids were not with her.

I hope she’s just getting furniture and not moving out.

Milf is still here. I almost turned right into her and the two kids in the grocery store across the street.

The ants are gone.

I don't know if it's the traps but the ant population died town to a few (3 or 4) then to one every couple of days. I haven't seen one for a week now. I'm not sure if dropping into freezing cold temperatures means they went into hibernation but I set out a new trap just in case.

Hopefully whomever brought them into the building figured out they had an infestation.

Listened to a free concert at noon today from a trio composed of Brit, a French by way of Spain, and a German. Normally I'm not a fan of Brahms but they educated me on a piece from Max Bruch which was interesting. Also enjoyed the Shostakovich ending as I am a sucker for Russian melodies.

It's 13c. Especially in the sun. Winter is at least tolerable now.

Sod off. It's back to 3c now. I'm going to resume hibernation along with these Canadian geese I saw on the weekend.

35C here yesterday - 37C today. Storms + cool change around 5pm today - overnight down to 15C - tomorrow top of 19C

Catastrophic Bushfire warnings today - dry , high temps , high winds. Lets hope it doesn't turn to bushfires.

Astonishingly I made good conversation over a 3 course meal in front of a grandmother last night at the alumni dinner. At the reception I also chatted up some engineering science student who for whatever reason came up to me.

I started going to these 10+ years ago and one of the other attendees (who was a helper before) is turning 90 this year. The chair and organiser is mid to late 70s so I keep thinking the next one might be the last one.

Although sometimes I don't sound like it I am finally over this 2 1/2 week cold. My cardio and weight numbers are reflecting it. The weight I lost seems gone forever, though, so I'm a bit worried.

For Sunday family lunch, I "made" or "forced" my family to eat Persian food including conscripting my brother to make kebabs on his bbq. But it turned out well - even if it's not typical Sunday family fare.

The aroma of saffron at the table though...

Picked up a pair of these plus a centre speaker set off the hard rubbish chuckout on the next street.

My son and I made ‘boffer swords’. Some A Grade father son bonding before we start hitting each other with these things!

Picked up my veal shoulder from a butcher in the posh area of town for Easter. Got a free concert of select arias in French from one of the up and coming sopranos at the local opera company. Went to another posh grocery store to pick up dandelion greens for tomorrow that didn't look like locusts have ravaged on them.

I've always said people who work in remote locations are 3M: missionaries, mercenaries and/or misfits. So, accordingly, I facilitated a permanent transfer of my current gig from the city to the heart of the boreal forest for more pay and free housing until I decide to retire.

Not even a bit sentimental of leaving the ranch. I found the remaining beasties homes last fall and it was the first time in 20 years not stacking hay bales, and I loved it.

I think a wardrobe pivot is in order.

Headhunter is taking me out today for lunch. For the two positions I helped him fill from my roster including an AVP.
