Taki the The Spectator magazine on the BBC:
'' But I will ban the Corporation from showing filth, and that includes every single film made over here and in America in the past 40 years. All sci-fi will be verboten — too predictable and boring, and viewed only by morons — as will the use of the F-word on any BBC show. The Best Years of Our Lives, All About Eve, Paths of Glory, Laura, Life with Father, Gone with the Wind, Das Boot, all John Wayne westerns, all Audie Murphy westerns, all MGM musicals, all black and white movies featuring huge art-deco nightclubs, large bands playing 1930s tunes, and men in white tie dancing with beautiful women with mid-Atlantic accents and shimmering dresses will be de rigueur. As will Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, All Quiet on the Western Front, Rebecca, all Gary Cooper movies, all Barbara Stanwyck films, all Ava Gardner ones, all those starring William Holden and all Burt Lancaster films, with a weekly showing of The Leopard, Visconti’s masterpiece based on the Lampedusa novel. Ditto Fred and Ginger movies to brighten up our spirits when the English weather dampens them. And a dose of the Marx Brothers every Sunday morning to help us get over our hangovers.''
I've read that Charles Moore is in line to become chairman of the BBC and Paul Dacre head of OFCOM. That should be Interesting. LOL.
Personally, I thought they would/should have offered the BBC role to Andrew 'Brillo' Neil.
Here's Neil demolishing Ben 'facts don't care about your feelings' Shapiro.
They should just have ‘The Comedians’ on a continuous loop. Half an hour of politically incorrect one liners from fat Northern comics. Followed by ‘Mind Your Language’ - all your favourite national stereotypes and a man-hating woman in charge of everybody.Taki the The Spectator magazine on the BBC:

Excellent fish and chips on Friday and the discovery that it is no longer just takeaways.
No we are in in Tier 2 now. Though the chippy was in Epsom which is not.You escaped tier 2 and/or 3?
Fish and chips not something I fancy making at home.
Chuckles...
Chuckles...
Hard hats were only worn when it rained with McAlpines fusiliers in the 1970s.One of my colleagues worked at Cammell Laird shipyards in the early 80s (1980s not 1880s) and he told me all the foreman wore bowler hats to distinguish themselves from the herd. I do believe it's true, I worked in the fabrication shops in Birkenhead in the late 80s and early 90s and hard hast where considered somewhat effeminate until they became double mandatory.
....
This made me chuckle. Chutzpah of the highest degree.
Deutsche Bank Research: Tax home workers 'to help those who cannot'
Report says working from home should be taxed at 5% to help those whose jobs are under threat.www.bbc.co.uk
Almost like those who keep preaching for universal or basic income. Communist socialist policies are in vogue now. Even China's authoritarian regime is seen as a model of how you tackle pandemics.
