God forbid one day I change what I order.
Our local rail station has one bloke making coffee, between 7 am and 9 am, in the old newspaper cubby in the pedestrian underpass to the central platform . You can text ahead and order and pay on this app thing. Pretty nifty. Young bloke and he plays tasty 60s and 70s music as well as a bit of “young peoples” stuff.I've been going Friday afternoons to this one cafe. The barista literally sees me round the corner outside of the building and prepares a double espresso by the time I am the till.

My friends in East Timor who have been running a health center for the last decade decided to expand to a farmers’ co-op, to address child malnutrition.
Looks great - whereabouts is it located? In the interior somewhere?

I kicked in a few bucks hoping for the best but understanding that it was always a gamble whether they could get it off the ground. They are off to a great start!

Good work. Too hot for me up in that area. But neighbours in my street are very involved donate a lot and visit often. She’s working on mosquito eradication through some genetic manipulation iirc. I’m involved with some oral health stuff we run up there. My friends in East Timor who have been running a health center for the last decade decided to expand to a farmers’ co-op, to address child malnutrition. Between Lospalos and Lautem, in the East.

I’m a bit involved in West Papuan independence due to our family sponsoring and having young leaders stay with us while refugees and studying here. One is part of a great band they have. Bob Marley is big with them.
Good stuff! The Eastern end is definitely hot and full of mosquitoes. Up around Maubisse, South of Dili, it gets cool in the evenings due to the altitude. Beautiful countryside and wonderful coffee. But I was mostly in the East, in the area bordered by Lautem, Illiomar and Tutualla. The folks in the East speak Fataluku and Portuguese.
Timorese resistance fighters in the 80s were very big on Regggae and Merengue, whereas the first generation were all about John Denver seventies country. Then, in the nineties, they started adapting Indopop songs.
I’ve got an incredibly rare recording of Xanana and the old guard of Falintil singing around the campfire in 1983. It was smuggled out by Senator Gordon Macintosh during the parliamentary visit during the ceasefire that year.
Listening to John Denver and then going into a fire fight, is somewhat incongruous. Getting all fired up on Bobby's Song and Leaving On A Jet Plane.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.....
Who are these idiots?
