News You Can Lose

Was there a doubt?

"Me being the older woman in a partnership with a younger person, or being pregnant over 40 - and that that's 'irresponsible' and 'the poor child' - it's such double standards and I think it's so unquestioned in people's minds. It's just a trite, easy target. But it's absurd. I was very fortunate. I wasn't necessarily trying to get pregnant. This happened as a total surprise and biologically was something that my body was able to do."

In case anyone was harbouring wishes to get Sienna Miller to get her body to do biological things she's still capable of.

"They warn such injuries are caused by 'a forceful bending of the erect penis during aggressive sexual intercourse featuring unusual sexual positions (eg 'reverse cowgirl')'"

It's the most wonderful time of the year
There'll be much mistltoeing
And hearts will be glowing
When loved ones are near
It's the most wonderful time of the year

Is there an Outlook calendar to book times where you should be together in the bedroom?

Did anyone watch it? I guess I'm still on Ricky Gervais' 2020 scathing criticism of Hollywood.
  • "When the Globes called me and asked if I wanted to host, I jumped at the chance. Then they asked me if I saw the movies and TV shows, and I said yes. I lied."
  • "The minute I signed the contract, I started to binge watch everything, while my family were out there clanking champagne glasses and ringing in the new year, I was watching Oppenheimer. I just have one complaint: It needed another hour."
  • "Oppenheimer answered a question that's been on my mind for years: Yes scientists do get laid. As long as they look like Cillian Murphy."
  • "Robert de Niro. Your last performance has got to be your greatest performance ever. How did you get her pregnant at 80?"
  • "Succession has nine nominations - a great series about a rich, white dysfunctional family, all scheming... oh no that's The Crown, sorry."
  • "How great was Imelda Staunton in The Crown? Her portrayal was so great, Prince Harry called her and asked her for money."

"Patrons will be limited to 240 'points' of alcohol per month. One litre of spirits will be worth six points, one litre of wine three points and one litre of beer one point."

Allah smiles upon you. 240 points (80 bottles of wine) - you might want to gear up your health care system for liver failure.

"The article in the Shukan Bunshun reported that Ms Shiino had engaged in a relationship with a married influencer and doctor. The man has not provided any public comment. In its initial response to the report last week, the pageant organisers defended Ms Shiino, saying she hadn't known the man was married. However on Monday, organisers said she had confessed to knowing about the man's marriage and family."

She's being punished because the other guy is the adulterer?

"British tests of Trident missiles are rare, not least because of the cost. Each missile is worth around £17m and the last test in 2016 also ended in failure when the missile veered off course. Test-fired missiles are not armed with their nuclear warheads."

34M quid well spent. You have to be like the North Koreans and launch one every other day to be proficient at it.

197M people watched this woman on TikTok? I thought 197M people would take a dump and bury this rubbish than having to listen to her moan about her ex.

All you have to do is act in Netflix movies. It doesn't even matter if the Oscars notice you or not. Where's Ryan Reynolds on this list?

The Forbes top 10 Hollywood earners 2023:

  • 1. Adam Sandler - $73m (£57m)
  • 2. Margot Robbie - $59m (£46m)
  • 3. Tom Cruise - $45m (£35m)
  • =4. Ryan Gosling - $43m (£34m)
  • =4. Matt Damon - $43m
  • 6. Jennifer Aniston - $42m (£33m)
  • =7. Leonardo DiCaprio - $41m (£32m)
  • =7. Jason Statham - $41m
  • 9. Ben Affleck - $38m (£30m)
  • 10. Denzel Washington - $24m (£19m)

I don't believe I've seen anything with Adam Sandler in it - but there you go I guess - its 2024.

It's nearly impossible to find a place to rent. But retirement homes have room to spare

"Brett Sargon and two teammates from his New Zealand curling team wanted to train and compete in Calgary for a few months but were having trouble finding somewhere affordable to stay.

After sharing their situation on social media, Chartwell Colonel Belcher Retirement Residence reached out to propose a 'win-win situation,' he said. The athletes would stay there without having to commit to a year-long lease, and their presence would liven up the place during their stay."

Either New Zealand athletics don't support their athletes very well or Airbnb and the hospitality sector have failed these men.

"The Calgary-based organization is beginning a pilot program that will soon see two post-secondary students move into a retirement home where they'll pay cheap rent in exchange for spending 30 hours a month socializing with seniors, said Paquette. 'I think it's good for both the students and the seniors. They both have different perspectives in life.… And they can learn from each other,' she said."

I hope the 30 hours doesn't involve dealing with insomnia at 4am or going to the toilet in the middle of the night.

I have to think some of the older fans must be close to menopause by now.

"The average strength of lager and ale in the UK is around 4.4%, according to Drinkware - but in Germany, beers are often 4.7% to 5.4%."

Because English and Scottish stomachs can't take the potent power of German beer.

“'My husband isn’t my partner. He’s my mentor, my lover, and, only in certain contexts, my friend,' she writes. 'I’ll never forget it, how he showed me around our first place like he was introducing me to myself. This is the wine you’ll drink, where you’ll keep your clothes, we vacation here; this is the other language we’ll speak, you’ll learn it and I did.'"

Christie, now 27, writes that she enjoys time 'to read, to walk central London and Miami and think in delicious circles.'

There is, Christie writes, a downside to her monied existence: 'I live in an apartment whose rent he pays and that shapes the freedom with which I can ever be angry with him. He doesn’t have to hold it over my head, it just floats there, complicating usual shorthands to explain dissatisfaction.'

By marrying so young — although as many social media users pointed out, her husband is only 10 years older — Christie was able to leave a 'lucrative but deadening spreadsheet job to write full-time, without having to live like a writer.'"

Is this new news? Gold diggers exist at every age group.

Although being 10 years older than her I don't know what language and wine a 30 year old man has perfected to preach to 20 year olds.

"Her father is a physician and an anti-abortion activist who, according to his website, lectures regularly on Catholic social issues, particularly marriage, family, and the dignity of life.”"

There's dignity to opening up your legs and cranking out children.

The significant shift from Republican voters has pushed Swift’s overall favorability rating among registered voters lower than last year, decreasing from 40% in 2023 to 33% this year. While 16% had negative feelings about her in 2023, 27% say they do now.
